About Ian

With more than 40 years of golfing experience to his name, Ian has earned a reputation as being one of the most successful golf coaches not only in Australia, but also throughout the world, through his players’ successes on many of the World Tours.

He has guided world number one players – including Karrie Webb and So Yeon Ryu – to the peak of their career success and in 2017, was named in the prestigious Australian 50 Great PGA Coaches list. Included in the Golf Digest’s Best International Teachers 2020 is an outstanding achievement, but well deserved.

In 2002, during Ian’s ten year tenure as Australian Women’s National Coach, the Australian Women’s Amateur Team won the World’s Amateur Teams Title, only the second time Australia has won in the history of this event.

The PGA of Australia has awarded many titles to Ian, numerous PGA Teacher of the Year Awards for his State of Queensland and the Australian Teacher of the Year Award in 2009.
He was also honoured with an Award in the Australian PGA 2011 Centenary Awards Members list for Excellence in Service .

Ian’s golf coaching philosophy has been developed over the past 40+ years with a caring holistic approach to each individual’s game.

Being creative in his approach and refining a person’s game by providing passionate support, getting an understanding of their physical and mental makeup and how that influences that individual technically and dynamically is Ian’s formula for success.
